Designing a market-leading circulation booster
How do you improve an award-winning product range?
The REVITIVE Circulation Booster is a medical device that uses electrical muscle stimulation to increase blood circulation in the lower legs and feet, helping to prevent leg health deterioration.
In 2012 and 2013, Actegy Health won the Red Dot Design Award for previous versions of their REVITIVE device, which they had developed with Team Consulting. In 2016, they challenged us to further improve the usability of their device to help defend its market-leading position.
Working closely with their team, we added new and innovative features to enhance the user experience of the device, including varying intensity levels, improved remote controls, timers and more. All this while retaining the simple iconic form and colour palette that the product was known for in the market. As a result, Actegy Health took home another Red Dot Award for their efforts.
When developing the aesthetics of this next-generation product, it was important to retain the DNA of its predecessors, whilst clearly differentiating it from other products in the range. This helped Actegy communicate the benefits of their new offering at a glance.

The previous versions of REVITIVE needed to be replaced with a more cohesive product family that would address different user needs and broaden market penetration. With three different products in the new family, users are now able to choose the product based on their specific user needs.
