A Campaign for Third Culture Individuals
Globalisation has made Third Culture Individuals (TCI) more common than before, but there are still many of us unfamiliar with the term. The term refers to someone who has spent a significant part of their developmental years in a culture other than their parents’ culture. The “Third Culture” in the name refers to one created internally by the individual as they develop a sense of relationship with various different cultures while not having full ownership over any.

Although being a TCI comes with its benefits such as intercultural sensitivity, proficiency in multiple languages, open-mindedness and cultural empathy, a major struggle encountered throughout adolescence is discovering one’s identity and finding a sense of belonging. These were the two issues I primarily hoped to target with this campaign. The campaign focuses on generating a sense of community, support, and more understanding.
