This is a submission for Retrographix Facebook Group, for cover group banner. I was excited to join and here's my entry. I was inspired by the 80s anime like Bubblegum Crisis and Heavy Metal L-Gaim, I actually first want to make it looks like an anime title but I feel it would be suited for kind of retro gaming title screen.
This is the draft logo that I made before the final one. The left above was the first one I made and inspired by some 80s anime title. The next one was inspired by 80s Tokusatsu logo title such as Super Sentai and Ultraman. The bottom one also inspired by 80s anime title, I was looking at MD Geist logo actually and got an idea to making it.
The final logo that I combined between the first and last logo draft. The X are looking pretty good, but I think the overall logo was too long, so I decide to combine it with the first draft. The colors were picked from Gundam, Dirty Pair, City Hunter, etc., combined.
If only I post just only a logo, it would be boring. I think it would be a great idea to add a character. This is Sirius, her suit is heavily inspired by The Knight Sabers suit from Bubblegum Crisis. I gave her colors from the final logo.
