HOWS by Cafeshow is a place where people and brands with good knowledge about coffee, and it is a complex coffee culture space opened with the corporate vision to convey the power of communication with the culture and design in the city. We followed the needs of Cafeshow that they didn’t want to specify the role and purpose of the building, so we went through a brand design that focused on the space itself overall.

HOWS by Cafeshow는 커피에 일가견이 있는 사람들과 브랜드들이 모이는 곳으로, 도심 속 문화와 디자인이 가진 소통의 힘을 전하고자 하는 Cafeshow의 기업 비전으로 오픈한 복합 커피 문화 공간입니다. 건물의 역할과 목적을 특정하고 싶지 않다는 Cafeshow의 니즈에 따라 전반적으로 공간 자체에 초점을 맞춘 브랜드 디자인을 진행했습니다.

Extended Space

We needed a shape that was simple and easy to understand in order to express the characteristic of’a space with free expandability depending on the situation. The simplest shape that can express the 3-dimensional space of a building in 2 dimensions was a hexagon, and we utilized and applied it throughout the HOWS brand. The logo of HOWS can be used by itself, but it can show infinite expandability when used as a graphic motif.

‘상황에 따라 자유로운 확장성을 지닌 공간’이라는 특성을 표현하기 위해 간단하면서 쉽게 이해될 수 있는 형태가 필요했습니다. 건물이라는 3차원 공간을 2차원 상에서 가장 간단하게 표현할 수 있는 형태는 육각형이었고, 이를 활용하여 HOWS의 브랜드 전반에 걸쳐 적용했습니다. HOWS의 로고는 그 자체로도 쓰일 수 있지만, 그래픽 모티프로 활용 될 때 무한한 확장성을 보여줄 수 있습니다.

Various Experience

HOWS’s graphic motif is used with four flexibly changing glyphs, along with hexagon that means the expansion of space. These glyphs, which are located at each vertex of screen or paper, represent various experiences that can be felt in HOWS, and show flexibly changing appearance depending on the usage.

HOWS의 그래픽 모티프는 공간의 확장을 의미하는 육각형과 함께 유연하게 변화하는 네 개의 글리프와 함께 사용됩니다. 화면 또는 지면의 각 꼭지점에 위치하는 이 글리프들은 HOWS에서 느낄 수 있는 다양한 경험을 의미하며, 사용처에 따라 자유롭게 변화하는 모습을 보여줍니다.
