My idea for this project would be a city in outer space and what that would look like with outer space and planets behind it. I started out by finding a space landscape that I liked with a planet in the background. I then got a very lit up and bright city that I thought would look cool with these landscape behind it. I used the quick selection tool and deleted its original background behind it to where it was then just the city and the space landscape.

I next found another space landscape that I liked a lot and wanted to combine with the original one. I brought it into photoshop and used the quick selection tool to select just the parts I wanted. Once I did that I made it into a brush. I wanted to put down the brush in a red color for like a mars feel. I put it in the right spot so the two planets were next to each other and the mountains were in the right spot. I wanted the water to also be showing because that is important if there is going to be life. I liked the look that one planet and some of the landscape was a brush and some was not.

I now wanted to bring in the city and put it to where it looked good. I evened it out and made it the best size I could to fit in with the background. I liked its spot where it is on the water and the mountains from the brush and the the planet in the background.

I then decided that the city didn't fit in as well as it should. The bright colors didn't settle well with the brush and the landscape in the background. I decided to make the city into a brush so it would settle in more and it would be one specific color. I placed the brush starting off in a bright yellow and then a darker green on top so that you could see the details of the city. I liked the final look of the city and felt it blended in more as a whole. I then used a Saturn brush that I had in photoshop and placed it in space. I placed it first as a dark purple and then a lighter purple on top to get the final result.

To finish everything up I wanted to add something going on in the water to show more of what life would look like. I wanted a fishing boat to be out in these waters fishing for mystery kinds of fish. I used the quick selection tool to select a boat from an image that was on the water. I then made this image into a brush and put it on the water. I put it in light orange color to give it color variation from the rest of the piece. Finally, I had what a city would look like in outer space.
