SVPER11 WATCH

INSPIRED BY NASA APOLLO11 MISSION

The SVPER11 watch was designed as a tribute to the one of the most amazing achievement of humans which was Apollo11 Mission successfully landing on the moon in 1969... Just imagine designing, planning and executing a mission of that magnitude without things we take for granted now like super fast computers, internet or engineering software.

I've tried to draw as many references from the mission as I could and pack them into a wrist watch - a device that feels very tangible in contrast to a slew of smart devices that are easily disposed of and, although being super advanced, are also posing quite a few threats.

FACE, CROWN, CASEBACK

INSPIRED BY NASA APOLLO11 MISSION

THE FACE

The most important part of the watch is it's face. Thanks to detailed maps of the moon available from NASA we were able to recreate the topography of the APOLLO11 Mission landing site and turn it into 3D terrain.

The Sea of Tranquility - 0.67408˚N X 23.47297˚E / MARE TRANQUILLITATIS

The unique 4-arms second hand marks the exact coordinates of the APOLLO11 landing.

THE CROWN

The crown of the watch is modelled after the 3D scanned model of the Spacesuit used by APOLLO11 crew for their Moon-walking activities :)

THE CASEBACK

We've used technical ceramic material to mod the white disc that is assembled together with the metal plate to form the caseback. Technical ceramic provides unique feeling and look to the part (as well as quite a lot of issues during production :).

To celebrate the APOLLO11 mission we've embossed "APOLLO PROGRAM 1969" message there.

THE COLOURS

Each colour combination is inspired by space exploration and APOLLO11 Mission.

LUNAR MISSION RED

Inspired by the endless space void with NASA RED accents beaming through the darkness.

SPACESUIT SILVER

Inspired by the pure white APOLLO11 Spacesuit, featuring white nylon strap and NASA Red and Blue accents.

ALUMINIZED KAPTON

Inspired by the material used in the space blankets on the Moon Lander (the golden foil protectors). Kapton was developed to withstand hostile Space conditions and reflect 97% of Sun light.
