Pop-up book for children on breaking gender stereotypes

MORA IS SO MUCH MORE!
CHILDREN’S BOOK ON BREAKING GENDER STEREOTYPES

This project stems out from my realisation that there are so many things that adults are stubborn about and unwilling to change at times. Gender stereotyping is one such thing.

Away from the world’s ‘structured’ way of being, children’s books are little doorways to discover a possibility not known before. I wrote the story and illustrated it and made it into a pop-up book for kids of 7-12 years of age.
Its a handmade book and I'm currently in the process of digitising it.

THE STORY

Mora is a friendly and kind rhino who loves to indulge in the little joys of life. His kind nature doesn’t help him when his peers make fun of him for being different and try to intimidate him. His bird friend Meethi and his mother help him get out of self-doubt when he questions his own way of being. Should he change for the world? Or should he be whatever he wants to be?
