Canning Town
The area is thought to be named for the first Viceroy of India, Charles John Canning, who suppressed the Indian Mutiny about the time the district expanded. The population increased rapidly after the North London Line was built from Stratford to North Woolwich, in 1846.
When shooting in canning town we went as a group of 4-5 and found it to be a positive for us. We struggled to find perfect photos for our group as canning town did not have the most to offer so we decided that as a group we would go to the same locations but spread out so we all got different views on the same places which resulted in more creative photos and an extended point of view.
Above is street food images found from the internet.
When I got my first favourite image, The one below. I looked to a lot of street food photography, I watch it all the time so when I saw a stall which had street food I just had to jump at the chance!
Canning Town is an area of east London. It is part of the London Borough of Newham and is situated in the area of the former London docks on the north side of the River Thames.
On our second trip we as a group took a different look on some routes around the train station, I believe that after the first time I had an eye for what I was after and felt more confident to be alot more creative with my work, I found 2 photos which I feel are good enough for my final image.
A random dog as my first, The reason being is it was an unpopular breed and while he was walking it almost felt like he was bringing people happiness on such a grey rainy day.
The second is the image below, as a group we had struggled to find more photos and with that we sat down in a carpark to think, Out the corner of my eye I saw some water which had the reflection of a building I just had to photograph it.
Below is some inspired shots of urban water reflections and urban dog photography.

At one point, Canning Town was home to the largest black community in London with over 100 families living in the area. Many of the capital's more dangerous industries were historically located in the East End, safely out of the way of the city of London and its more upmarket central areas.
