Competition Entry // 2020 // Fløtningsmuseum & Våtmarkscenter // Hald & Ravnborg
Proposal for a new log driving museum and marshland center in Fetsund, outside of Oslo. The building consists of four large volumes facing the Glomma river, with integrated courtyards inbetween. The buildings are connected by corridors which are pulled backwards from the river, to generate a natural flow.
The project is based on a synergi between dissemination, research and nature. The museum tries to activate the visitors with exhibitions and activities both inside and outside in the well integrated courtyards and along the banks of Glomma river.
The museum is build in a timber construction with a strong visual presence. The black painted wood cladding facade stands in contrast to windows and timber construction that is kept in natural tones.
