"Im Still Here" Exhibition Signage Design - Barangaroo 2016
In 2016 I was commissioned by "Front Up" to design exhibition signage and to create a visual identity that matched the uniqueness of the "Im Still Here" ethos. I created An Artist Walk, a wall of artists bios, statements, information and photos, that ran along the wall at The Cutaway, Barangaroo. Working closely with the Director and Producer, I created a series of posters for each participating artists, as well as support staff bios and key statements for the event.

The impetus
Over three weeks the artists from the Emerge pilot program spent time with the Emerge Artistic Director, lead artists and gallery educators soaking in three works that were offered as creative starting points for the collaborative project I’m still here.

The Creative Process
Over 12 weeks the artists have been immersing themselves in collaborative tasks set by firstly the artistic director and then later, by each other. What this melting pot of making, creating and sharing offered was a space of great trust and diversity, with each artist being able to respond to the given tasks in whichever medium they chose, in whatever scale or format – video, text, sculpture, performance, photography. Through this approach we began to build a common language around our thoughts and ideas and creativity.
While the tasks bore a direct relationship to the three works from AGNSW the responses took on their own concerns and themes, and it was form this process that the group honed into three main themes that their work was embracing –

The outcome
I’m still here represents forward motion for the emerging artists in the project. They have extended their creative processes presenting works that have pushed beyond their current practice, creating new dialogues around their work and offering new creative pathways forwards.
I’m still here will be an immersive, thought provoking multi artform event that will platform the many creative talents and ideas of this incredible group of artists.
From colourful heads bleeding rainbow coloured sand to giant marionettes suspended above your head, live sightings of the elusive and rare street Yowie and immersive spaces of colour, sound and projected image I’m still here fills the The Cutaway space with the talents and unique creative voices from the vanguard of emerging contemporary arts practice. Led by the expertise of award winning Sydney independent artist Kay Armstrong with a team of noteworthy lead artists Sarah-Vyne Vassallo, Liam Benson and Daniel Kojtka, the artists of the Emerge Pilot Program brings Sydney an event to remember.
