The Fibonacci

series

The Fibonacci series is a family of exterior tables generated completely with an alogrithm.

This project was born from an experimental approach to the use of algorithm based modeling tools to generate patterns and textures that would work as means of cohesion and formal articulation of an object family

// The Script

Using a rather simple script, we draw and extrude a polygon to be used as a guide to distribute the metal bars that will make up the base of the tables. The algorithm uses the Fibonacci number sequence as a pattern to distribute the bars from top to bottom and from left to right on each face of the polygons.

By changing one single parameter we are able to instantly generate different variations of the base of the table, preserving the distribution pattern of the bars, which will automatically adapt to each face.

In addition to the number of faces, we can modify other parameters such as: the height of the tables, the diameter of the internal circumference of the polygon, and the scale to which the sequence is applied.

After playing around with the algorithm, adding a tabletop that also adapts to each shape, and adjusting some of the dimensions, we selected this four variations to compose a set to be manufactured and comercialized.
