This is an academic project I developed during my Erasmus period in Madrid. It was about designing and producing the whole artifact of the paper novel: I was given the text and I had to design the cover, the typography and above all to produce some illustrations.
The story is a thriller and since its beginning the reader can feel the duplicity behind characters and situations. I developed an inner working which allowed me to communicate this feeling of hypocrisy through the pictures. I created double-face illustrations, by which you can initially see what's apparently going on, and then - by turning the page - the other side of the illustration reveals the true facts hiding behind the surface.
