To separate themselves from the stigma that other hostel organizations carry, the proposed identity and branding communicates Hostelling International’s high standards of safety, cleanliness,
and quality, while also celebrating their uniqueness.

The logo keeps the same iconic elements from the original design and reformulates them to add energy and dimensionality. This new message informs visitors that they offer more than the average hostel. From unique buildings, like a castle in Scotland, to stocked game rooms, community events, and delicious menus crafted by local chefs, Hostelling International is not just a place to sleep, it is an exciting experience.
