Myriad pictures from different places and times
I have not yet come up with a theme for this project, but wanted to get more of my pictures online, so for now it is just a random selection of shots I've taken in numerous different places and at different times that I just like. I shall gradually update the project with more content; please leave comments to let me know what you think.
The twisted, broken wire of an old farm gate near Castle Bytham, UK.
Textures on an old rendered stone wall in southern France.
Life is fuzzy sometimes. For some reason, Behance has rotated this picture 90º anticlockwise. The blur is in Amsterdam.
Of course this is in Amsterdam too. It looked cool.
Stuff. I actually have no recollection of what this is, but I'm guessing maybe textures on a wall. I know it was in Amsterdam, but beyond that, who knows?
Melbourne's Arts Centre in the run-up to Christmas. Christmas in the middle of summer when it's 40º: all kinds of wrong.
The Arts Centre in Melbourne again.
Somewhere in Melbourne...sometime at night. Any guesses? I have no idea!
Looking off the viewing deck above Queenstown, NZ, I saw a few of these guys cruising around, and immediately decided to give it a try. Best decision.
Steam from the sun hitting the cold ground on the walk up from the viewing deck to a higher take-off point for the paragliding.
Light glinting through the trees high up above Queenstown.
Frozen stems thawing in the sun caught my eye.
One of Coronet Peak's (NZ) snow canons awaiting the evening to start churning out more powder.
Sunshine and snow canons at Coronet Peak.
Boarding the plane to leave Queenstown, after a two-hour hold to wait for the blizzards to clear.
The ceiling lights at a café bar in London's Kings Cross train station.
This shot was actually taken on my old iPhone 4, proving it's not just the number of megapixels that makes a decent camera. Someone wise once said that the best camera is the one you have with you. Or something like that. You get the idea... Anyway, this beautiful (no filters, no edits) sky was captured on a farm in Lincolnshire in the summer of 2010 when I was doing some cultivation work.
Shapes in Fed Square that have now been adopted into all the Melbourne logos across the city.
A Vespa. Just 'cause Vespas are cool. I would look awesome on an old-school Vespa like this and you know it.
Locks on the pedestrian bridge over the Yarra at sunset. I'm sure the idea is that you have a padlock with keys, so you can lock it and throw the keys in the water to signify your commitment to your loved one, but hey, a combination lock works too, especially if you ever break up with that person...or really need a padlock. I know I've taken other similar photos, but I just loved the light on this particular evening, and then also the shapes and textures up close.
