CONCEPT

Branding exercise for a photgraphy exhibition called RAW Point of View. I submitted five designs. They all had the same theme, but each with a different logo and branding implementation.

We had to design:
A DL invitation
A booklet cover
A booklet page layout
An A3 Poster
A Banner (800x2000mm)

All to be placed on a low contrast black and white photo like the one supplied, primarily consisting of a dark tone so the vibrant colours pop.

The booklet is designed to read through front to back and back to front, both right way up and upside down. So the back cover is the front cover but upside down, so no matter what way you pick it up, you can read it.

CAMERA DECONSTRUCT

The idea of this logo is of a stylised perception of a deconstructed camera. An aperture, shutter and viewfinder are represented to make a stamp which is then branded on each collateral. The logo is also repeated as an overlay layer over the photo for some added interest.

EXTREME PERSPECTIVE

The idea of this branding is that the point of view heavily affects the perspective in which things are perceived, much in the way a viewer would look at a photo and perceive it differently from their standpoint. Based loosely on Swiss typography and crossroad street signs, this logo gives opportunity to creative alignment and thought provoking viewpoints. The logo is also repeated as an overlay layer over the photo for some added interest.

RULE OF THIRDS

The idea of this branding is that the rule of thirds grid is placed over the background photo and all the information is aligned from there. A secondary element is the translucent rectangle shape following a paragraph or series of information. This was to represent old school computer type, as if you were typing as the viewer is reading - a hint of motion to an otherwise minimalist approach.

VIEWFINDER - ORGANIC

The idea of this branding is that the viewfinder logo is always placed in the centre of the collateral and any information is offset aligned from the logo.
