Fall 2020: Typography and Design

This section of my profile is dedicated to showcase all the projects I completed within my Art 215L Typography and Design class during the fall
Typography Self Portrait
Fall 2020

The premise of this project focused on developing a composition that represents you, but does not necessarily look exactly like you. I decided to construct a sun made out of words that describe my personality, all surrounding around my main personal characteristic, which is bold.
Helvetica
Fall 2020

After watching a movie all about how the font Helvetica has developed overtime, we had to construct a composition that represents our feelings towards the font. I focused on the fact that Helvetica is a very structural font, as in it is a standard font for many businesses, yet it can be incorporated into abstract forms. I incorporated abstraction and structure into my design.
Gerrit Cole Infographic
Fall 2020

For a project during my Typography and Design class, we were tasked with creating an infographic on any topic we desired. I was inspired by sports infographics on Pinterest, and decided to craft one myself. I was unsure which athlete I wanted to highlight, and one of my friends mentioned, for not particular reason, that I should cover Gerrit Cole: a current pitcher for the Yankees. I decided to role with the idea, and am overall extremely proud with how my design came out.
Typeface Brochure - Cochin
Fall 2020

As a final project during my Typography and Design class, we were tasked with selecting a specific typeface and designing a brochure that showcases the typeface in a creative and intriguing way. While looking at different typefaces, I stumbled upon Cochin, and I was particularly drawn in by its elegant characteristics. In researching the typeface, I learned that Cochin is the font behind the Harry Potter series, which quickly sparked the theme for my brochure. I happen to be a huge Harry Potter fan, so I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas and transforming those ideas into my final design.
