SUNSET TASTE:
è un progetto realizzato per un concorso di architettura promosso dall'azienda vinicola Quinta Do Monte D'Oiro situata in Portogallo, nella regione di Lisbona.
Il progetto propone la nuova sala degustazione in una posizione strategica. Si trova sull pendio naturale che domina le colline con i vigneti.
La strategia è quella di proporre l'intervento come parte integrante del contesto in cui si colloca, nel rispetto della storia e della natura del luogo.
La scelta di realizzare la tasting room allo stesso livello dei vigneti è la chiave del progetto: il rapporto diretto tra la natura e le persone tramite l'esperienza della degustazione.
Il giardino pensile e la lunga rampa sono due degli elementi principali del progetto: lo spazio naturale del giardino pensile dà continuità con il paesaggio circostante e permette ai visitatori di avere una vista panoramica dall'alto verso i bellissimi vigneti.
La rampa e le sue scale conducono i visitatori dal livello superiore al livello delle vigne e alla nuova sala di degustazione. La scelta di avere una passeggiata, totalmente accessibile, crea altri spazi di aggregazione nei grandi gradini davanti alla sala di degustazione che vogliono essere come un'arena affacciata sul paesaggio.
La lunga parete principale conduce visitatori e clienti alla sala di degustazione. È fatta di terra battuta, un materiale sempre più utilizzato nell'architettura portoghese perché sostenibile ed esteticamente perfetto combinato con il paesaggio circostante.
La terra battuta aiuta a mantenere una temperatura interna fresca, è estremamente durevole e resistente agli agenti atmosferici.La costruzione del muro è realizzata utilizzando casseri in legno che poi possono essere riutilizzati per le coperture interne .Il parapetto, dove deve risultare d'impatto è realizzato utilizzando pannelli in corten, mentre quello leggero invece è costituito da una semplice struttura in acciaio.
L'interno della sala degustazione ha un'atmosfera calda e confortevole grazie ai materiali utilizzati per il design. Gli elementi principali sono il tavolo, con tutte le sue possibili combinazioni e disposizioni, e la parete di bottiglie.
Questa è costituita da tegole portoghesi unite tra loro in modo da formare un perfetto contenitore per le bottiglie di vino grazie alla loro forma curva. Anche in questo caso le piastrelle sono un materiale locale.Il legno di barrique prelevato dalle botti viene utilizzato per la copertura del soffitto ed il pavimento rimane il più rurale possibile grazie all'utilizzo di mattoni in cotto.

is a project done for an architecural competition promoted by Quinta Do Monte D'Oiro winery located in Portugal, in Lisbon region.
The project proposes the new tasting room in a strategic position. It is located in the natural slope that dominates the hills with the vineyards. The strategy is to propose the intervention as an integral part of the context in which it is located, respecting the history and nature of the place. The choice to create the wine room on the same level as the vineyards is the key of the project: the direct relationship between nature and the experience of wine with people.
The roof garden and the long slope are two of the main elements in the project: the natural space of the roof garden gives continuity with the surrounding landscape and let the visitors to have a panoramic view from above towards the beautiful vines.
The slope and its stairs lead the visitors from the upper level to the level of the vines and the new tasting room. The choice to have a promenade - which is totally accessible - creates some other gathering spaces and the big steps in front of the tasting room want to be like an arena facing the landscape.

The main long wall leads visitors and costumers to the tasting room, down along the slope. It is made by rammed earth, a material that is more and more often used in Portuguese architecture due the fact that it is sustainable and aesthet-ically perfect combined with the surrounding landscape. Rammed earth helps to maintain a cool interior temperature, it is extremely dura-ble and weather resistant.
The construction of the wall is made by using some wooden forms – that can be reused for the internal covers.
The handrail is made by using corten steel pan-els, for the parts where it should be massive, otherwise it is made by a simple steel structure.

The interior of the tasting room has a warm and comfortable atmosphere thanks to the material that are used for the design. The main elements are the table, with all of its possible combina-tions and dispositions, and the bottle-wall. This one is made by Portuguese tiles – the ones that are used for the roof covering - joint together in order to form a perfect storage for the wine bottles, thanks to the their curved shape. Also in this case the tiles are a local material.
The barrique wood taken from the barrels is used fot the cealing cover and the floor remains as rural as possible with some terracotta tiles.
