Overconsumption and Ecology in fashion design

We live in an over-consumerized world where we consume our planet's resources on an incredible scale. We produce more waste than ever before and the problem of climate change is key today. The production of apparel and textiles is the second most polluting industry globally. Most of the toxic pesticides and chemicals used to make clothing are dumped into our ecosystem: they end up in our oceans, waterways, air, and into our everyday consumer products ...
Dangerous working conditions, exploitation of workers, poisoning with pesticides, human trafficking.
Designing today is part of a global responsibility. It is the project that is the key trigger of sustainable change. The role of a designer is not only about meeting aesthetic requirements, but most of all the consumer requirements that should evolve all the time. Is ecologically managed fashion even possible? As a designer, I faced the difficult task of being attentive to the process of using rubbish, I focused in the area of "fashion design" and started recycling plastics. The potential for engaging in conscious recycling is enormous.
This project is to talk about the sustainable selection of materials in the context of fast and slow fashion, an open mind to new solutions is necessary. Consumer behavior is changing, a completely new ecological awareness has been born, I believe that focusing on this will lead to a change of attitude in our society by encouraging us to reduce the amount of waste and maximize the re-use of the same plastics, taking into account the reduction of costs for their processing. In this case, it is the re-use of plastic bags and food packaging.
