Transitions are places to be creative. Sometimes you want to shrink the transition to ease discomfort, but sometimes you want to lengthen the transition. Birthdays, Graduations, Red-carpet events are all celebrations that mark a transition. What happens when you get a new subscriber? Do you celebrate? Here’s a rough idea of how you might gift the user a memory.
Per Daniel Kahneman, our remembering-selves are more dominant than our experiencing-selves. The memory of customer experience is more powerful than the experience of customer experience. So lengthen celebratory transitions and give your customers a memory.
