The Brief
DAY ONE: Visualization and Brainstorming
Day one began with a group brainstorming session and Q&A with Mit Nørrebro, where we began asking key questions to uncover insights to begin our ideation.
The "Messy" Part
Key Takeaways from Client Q&A:

The Client wants to become more "physical" for people, especially the local community, however she would consider an opportunity to involve people from other parts of the city or country as well.

They feel the need to generate some revenue in order to cover expenses and notes that money is the deciding factor in determining whether she can maintain and cover costs.

They want Mit Nørrebro to redefine the town from what traditional right-wing media in Copenhagen has painted it as.

They want her journalism to be as free and open as it can be, allowing for balance journalism and democratic discourse.
DAY TWO: Analysis of the Challenge

DAY FOUR: THE CONCEPT

We live in a small community, but do we really know each other? In such a culturally rich city, why is it that we don’t share who we are or where we come from? In an era when we're told to stay two meters apart, the time has come to tell our stories and make connections; because connecting is more than just the physical. We don’t want to reinvent Nørrebro, we want to showcase and embrace the diversity we’ve possessed all along. It’s time to connect our communities and embrace our cultures. Mit Nørrebro. Mit historie.

The Mit Nørrebro Historie Festival

Synopsis: Every year, Mit Nørrebro will host a festival to showcase films revolving around the different lives of members of our community, giving anyone and everyone the opportunity to share their story. Local businesses can prepare food, provide tours to less travelled parts of the community, and engage with other members of the community at our festival. We want to showcase the art of storytelling as well as the art of communication through different events allocated to different sections of our event space. Connecting poetry, film and journalism to curate a safe space to share our cultures and our stories. Our goal is to shine light on our vibrantly diversified community and connect through our love for Nørrebro.

What: A festival of stories, food, culture and light

When: Fall, after Midsummer. Many new students arrive for their programs, as well as new residents from other parts of the world. An evening event featuring strings of lights, fragrant foods and the perfect setting for viewing film.

Why: Each part of the festival will be mapped into small worlds where local businesses can prepare food, provide tours and engage with other members of the community. The worlds of poetry, film, music, written and video journalism, the various types of art- all connected together to curate a space filled with culture and story. Our purpose is to connect and showcase the many cultures that make up our vibrant community.

Potential Community Partners:

1. KEA
2. Spillestedet Stengade
3. Democracy Garage
4. Københavns Universitet Universitetsparken
5. KBH Film & Fotoskole
6. Kapelvej 44
7. Assistens Kirkegård (to incorporate their historical tours of the famous cemetery)

This would also include local small businesses such as boutique stores, bars and restaurants to be determined
Location: Superkilen (Site Overview)
Superkilen was designed to bring locals together in an ethnically-diverse community. According to our research the architects that designed the urban park don't consider it a finite project but "artwork in progress.". The design is meant to make people of diverse backgrounds feel at home and connected to other ethnicities in the community. A place of expression, tolerance and art, Superkilen could in fact be the home of the Historie Festival.

The Films
The Red Wall - a perfect place for an outdoor cinema
Using the architecture as a metaphorical and physical backdrop, various films can be projected amongst the buildings located in the park. These films showcase the stories of both Nørrebro natives and migrants to create an inclusive picture of how this vibrant district comes to life.
The Food
Using an open area like the bike track in Red Square can be an opportunity to create a bustling buffet of food stands showcasing a taste of the local small restaurants in town.
The Conversation
Democratic Discourse in the round tables at the Armenian Picnic Tables sets a backdrop for discussion.

Interactive Video Sculpture & Community Chalkboard

- Have multiple portable sculptures that play videos of members of the community being interviewed, telling their stories.
- Have them scattered at different pop-up booths so that even before the films start, members of the community can still hear the stories of others in the community
- Feature lighting and mirrors alongside screens to create a visual component
- Utilize this component for advertising to fund Mit Nørrebro and other future events

Student Internship Credit Program

- Offering internship credits to students at an online media like Mit Nørrbero is efficient as it benefits students and the business
- Students get hands on learning experience and employers get services provided that will help grow the business
- May need a physical workspace, but it is possible to collaborate with local community centres or schools with classrooms not in use
- KEA and the University of Copenhagen offer programs that can translate into working for Mette through media, writing, translating and more.

DAY FIVE: PRESENTATION AND SUBMISSION
Please see below for video presentation to accompany this Behance project.
Pause to read.
Final Jury Feedback
"An excellent project showing, how a digital media can expand into an analogue format. A very academic and well researched project. It is great that the group uses both quantitative data to understand the demographics of the neighbourhood and personas to get to know the users more – in times where you can’t just go out and interview them. The concept of the Storytelling festival is very good and all the different elements are convincing. The group has understood the spirit and ambition of the local collaborator, #MitNørrebro, and succeed in transforming this into something else – the festival. The Storytelling festival solves both the challenges put forward by #MitNørrebro – a) to be more physical and b) to make more money."
