Javier Sauras. Web design for a journalist and photographer

Javier describes himself as a nomad journalist. During the last five years he has been writing on social issues, portraying the people he has interviewed in Japan, Spain, China, UK, Bolivia and the Philippines.

He needed a web to show his job for the eyes of a broad audience: from experienced journalists from the Columbia University – Graduate School of Journalism, where he is a current student, to his clients, international journals and news media.

Javier works with words, with images, and with the experiences people convey to him during his travels. In order to portray the richness of his work in an immediate and clear manner, I decided to build his website around the visual narrative.

The images help transport the viewer into the written story, into the journey Javier went through, into the vivid experiences of the people portrayed in them. Thus, the viewer feels the emotions behind the story before reaching the written published texts. His work was vast enough so that I could choose a selection of very significant stories.
