The Northeast Kingdom

Jasper Hill Farms Cheese
2013

A Vermont farm, two brothers and some amazing cheese

After a rough childhood of Mateo Kehler beating the crap out of his younger brother, Andy, they formed a rare partnership that honors some lofty goals that mend and transcend their sibling rivalry. Now, rather than torturing each other with noogies, they strive to derive meaning from their daily existence via working hard in a place they both love: Greensboro, Vermont.

I worked as the Sound Mixer on this story and really enjoyed the company for those few days. If you are ever in The North East Kingdom stop by Greensboro to enjoy some award winning cheese from Vermont.

Music Video
 "One Short Night"
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals take us inside rehearsal and onstage at their massive hometown waterfront concert in Vermont while giving a compelling performance of "One Short Night", one of the many highlights from their upcoming self-titled album. I worked on this music video last year recording sound in the first part of the video. These guys were great to work with and if you have a chance to see them they are a must see.
DOCUMENTARY

Mother Natures Child
2010

For thousands of years human beings evolved in the natural world, and until only a generation ago, our children played freely outdoors. In a single generation, contemporary culture has under gone drastic change, forcing children indoors, where they increasingly exhibit symptoms of "nature deficit": obesity, depression, & attention disorders.
I was fortunate to be a part of this program by working as the sound mixer on some portions of this hour long documentary. A portion of the open & Exposure are two of those sections I mixed sound for.

Teachers have many ways of keeping their interested. It seems to become more of a challenge as the students get older and these teachers are among the best of the best. We traveled across the US profiling teachers and the techniques they used to keep their students involved and learning.I was the man / DP on the project and Clay Johnson was the producer. This program aired on local PBS stations in NC and across the US.
DOCUMENTARY
Dying Well                                                                      2008

This is a documentary about a group of singers called Hollowell. They offer their songs and singing for those that are in their last days. they will meet on a moments notice to sing whatever the person in need would like to hear. Their voices are amazing and  I loved recording the for this project. It was both sad but very pleasing to know that people will be there for one another in their time of need.

KATHERINE HEPBURN
Behind The Scenes1994

This was a behind the scenes story on Katherine Hepburn's last movie which starred herself,Henry Winkler, & Swoosie Kurtz. It was shot in Wilmington, NC for the program Extra. I worked as the sound man for this shoot and felt very privileged to be in the same room with Katherine Hepburn.
I am sorry for the quality but this was before HD and was shot on BetaSP video tape then the transfers have decreased the quality by a lot.
Discovery Channel
A Haunting / Echoes From The Past

A Vermont family moves into a old house they plan to renovate and find that it is haunted. This was a shoot I worked on for the discovery Channel as sound mixer.

FOOD NETWORK

Through Down With Bobby Flay

Vermont Brownie Company

                                                                       2008

The Food Network came to Vermont again to challenge yet another of our state owned business. This time it was the Vt. Brownie Company. They hired some local crew from Vt being myself as location soundman and the cameraman I worked with Peter Kent. I am only showing the opening to the show since you can catch the full program on The Food Channel now. After it has been run and you have not seen the full program I will post it at that time. It was a blast to work on even being a very cool and rainy fall day.
