Introduction
This project was a fun introduction to the world of typography. We learned about the different ways you can place glyphs so that they interact in interesting ways. It was challenging at first to train my brain to create an interesting composition using letters and numbers. Overall, it was a fun project that I enjoyed doing.
This is the final sans-serif composition.  I orientated each element in different ways that worked with the elements around it, as well as making the design visually interesting. My favorite part of the composition is the letter 'I' that I created by using a capital I and an E was the dot above it. I love the way it cuts across the other elements of the composition in a diagonal, creating an image that creates interest in both positive and negative space.

Te serif composition was fun to make, but I did have more difficulty with it than the sans-serif composition. In earlier versions, it was a lot busier. I ended up removing several elements that made the composition and its focal points confusing. I am much happier with the simpler design that it resulted in. I love the movement in the composition. The way it curves around in a circular motion is satisfying. I used angular shapes to contrast with the more curved ones, creating more interest. I enjoyed making the different cutouts and enhancing the negative space. It was an enjoyable project.
