3D BANKING CARD & TRAINING
THE PROJECT
Pumpkin is an instant, free and 100% secure cashback application for payment and refund between friends. I was contacted to give professional 3D courses on Blender for one of the firm's collaborators. The exercise ended with the creation of a photo-realistic version of the physical credit card for their next marketing campaign. This professional training is complementary to the series of tutorials I recently launched on Youtube about Blender fundamentals.
During 11 days I lead the trainee step by step in the creation of the 3D card, going through the fundamentals of 3D PBR creation. Here is the result.

At the end of this training, the candidate must be able to model the credit card perfectly. From the basic shape to embossing numbers. He also wishes to be able to perfectly manage the textures of the card (plastic effect, transparency, matte and glossy), as well as the environment, the light and the cameras.
11 days of training spread over 3 months make it possible to delay the 8 chapters and gradually assimilate the fairly complex PBR principles.
technical breakdown
The Mastercard watermark is the most complex technical part of the object. It uses material principles that are too advanced for a first introduction to 3D. I designed the material in parallel in order to integrate it as a bonus at the end of the training.
Stress test of the mixing Parallax, Iridescence & Anisotropic madness.
In the end it's only a basic 3D plane.
