ẹiyẹle: the maiden of flight.
This photo series portrays pride, identity, self-love, freedom, culture, uniqueness, and style. While taking these self-portraits, the idea I wished to communicate to everyone is to fly, soar as high as you can(I can also dedicate this to the pigeon that came down while I was taking these images). When I was young, I learnt the Yoruba name for the pigeon was ẹiyẹle (I pronounce it Eyeyele). If I weren’t human, I’d have been a bird; they have boundless freedom, this sort connection to breeze and lightness I could only wish for.
