Porsche 911 SWB livery & helmet

I was contacted by Christian Coll to develop a fresh new design for his 1965 Porsche 911 SWB, competing in the 2.0L Cup (Peter Auto Series), an historic championship that travels around Europe in circuits such as Monza or Paul Ricard.

The aim of the project was to create a striking retro livery inspired by vintage Porsche prototypes from the late 60s and early 70s with sponsors from that era, mixing it all with some hints to Christian's national colors visible on the helmet design as well.

Livery design development

Christian loved the late 60s and early 70s Porsche prototypes liveries, like the psychedelic color scheme, famous for the iconic 917K, and the 906 and 908 cars in yellow, white, red and black (but also with some green and yellow variants).
Taking into account these indications I've come up with two main styles of proposals. Later on we've decided to develop the geometric color scheme, simplifying it and adding retro sponsors from that era such as Martini, Shell and Dunlop. Our aim was to create an iconic design with clean
and bold lines that referres to Porsche's heritage without copy-pasting.
Helmet design
On the helmet we can find the matching yellow, white, red and black graphic we saw on the car.
In addition there are blue and yellow hints to the Swedish flag, simbolizing Christian's mixed origins (Spain and Sweden).
