In 2020, I have finished my major project. This project is about Hue royal tea - A very special tea in Vietnam.
Hue's royal culture is once the biggest culture in Vietnam but it hasn't been well known.In this project, i want to bring the royal culture to be more familiar to the people in Saigon so i developed a brand identity " Ngự Trà'' - royal tea.
The logo is inspired from the letter of Chinese characters - that usually seen in Hue palace during the Nguyen Dynasty. From that, I also developed a logo variation that takes inspiration from the '' Hoành phi '' of Hue and put it on the packaging.
The "Ngự Trà" packaging take inspired from the royal palace- the Trinh Minh palace, where the royal concubines live in, The Can Thanh where the empire stay and the Dien Tho palace where the queen mother stay. For the lotus and jasmine tea, I take the name from the famous place in Hue palace: the Tinh Tam lake and the Co Ha garden. I also developed a series of illustrations for these five different teas that all inspired from the Hue royal.
