This is a class project designed in the Summer 2013 semester at Nossi College of Art. Photography and logos were provided by Blood:Water Mission (www.bloodwatermission.org). The project was initially to design a 4-pack of beer bottles - label, bottle cap, packaging, and a coaster - but after speaking with my instructor, I opted to do a special water bottle design for Blood:Water Mission, a charitable organization that I love and support which works in building water wells and health clinics in areas of Sub-Saharan Africa where clean water is scarce. I wanted to convey the preciousness of the water while keeping a really organic feeling to the overall project, highlighting the information and keeping the design "brand" with the organization as well.
The Blood:Water Mission "tagline" is that you can help provide clean water to one person for an entire year. (Yes it really is that simple to help, every single penny really does make a difference! This is one of my favorite things about Blood:Water Mission). I wanted to highlight the tagline in a way that would call attention to it in an artistic way. Since this project was for an advanced typography class, I chose to highlight it by making a unique typographic representation of it. This representation of the tagline in the shape of the African continent was created in Illustrator.
