The Role of a Six Sigma Green Belt

For the past 15 years, Stephanie Zargar has served as the office manager and executive/private assistant to the president and CEO of California-based Cal-Am Properties. In addition to handling administrative duties, she manages a car fleet worth more than $1 million and maintains more than 400 employee cell phone accounts. A licensed notary public, Stephanie Zargar is certified as a Six Sigma green belt.

An individual with a Six Sigma green belt works on process improvement projects that are not standardized within an organization or that or don’t have established metrics. The Six Sigma Green Belt training is internationally recognized and can be taken alone or as part of the four-week Six Sigma Black Belt training. After undergoing the training, individuals will be able to analyze and solve quality problems within an organization, coordinate with other teams to collect data, and deliver feedback to help drive performance goals.

Six Sigma green belts demonstrate an effective understanding of the overall improvement process and communicate among project managers to facilitate coordination.
