Varied media
-------
For the 2019 Year of Tolerance in the UAE, the College of Fine Arts and Design, University of Sharjah,
held an exhibition which called for the diverse group of design students to create designs inspired by their country of origin.

This project uses a block print motif (also known as buti) hails from India. Exploring and deriving forms from the original motif, the final motif came to be. The form displays the first letter of the word for tolerance in Hindi, स (sa). The end motif was then executed in different media.
Fabric Medium
-------
Fabric seemed as a perfect material to execute the motif. Appliqué is ornamental needlework in which pieces of fabric in different shapes and patterns are sewn or stuck onto a larger piece to form a picture or pattern. The fabric and embroidery aim to depict the stitched together cultures of UAE.
This piece was exhibited at the 'Tolerance; Where Civilizations Meet' exhibition.
3D Digital Medium
-------
When thinking of tolerance, the elasticity of a balloon/fabric come to mind. This digital piece uses the elasticity of the material to showcase the tolerant nature of the country. With the motif pushing through and emphasizing the alphabet in the center.
