Pre-visualization or Previs (Previs Manila) is a process of visualizing a part of or the entire whole TV commercial or film before actual shooting. Pre-visualizations are created through storyboards, concept designs, 2D animatics and detailed 3D animation.
Previs help directors explore possibilities with their creative ideas and experiment through simulation of shots. Detailed pre-visualizations also help production teams see the scope of work, identify technical needs easily and bid to potential clients. It also allows agencies to appreciate treatments better hand-in-hand with their big idea. Agreements can be finalized on the material before the shoot to make it more time and manpower efficient. Previs can also help clients have a concrete picture of their investments and can use materials to gain management or consumer feedback before actually starting with the production process.
