Deus is an introductory project to 3D printing in the home environment. The aim is to present an attractive desktop 3D printer model for the consumer, with a sober aesthetic and closer to computing devices. With a modular cubic stackable design, Deus is a simple printer with a wide, visible cab with door access to conserve heat during printing. It has a material tank in the upper part, with an innovative horizontal rotation feeding system, to save space. The control panel at the bottom is intuitive and features a backlit power button and SD input.
The printer has a ventilation system and two internal handles, one on each side, for a better grip and transport. With this, Deus aims to improve ergonomic, communication and user interaction features, to promote a “maker” culture in homes, based on creativity and self-manufacture.
