For the launch of Viking Tyres in Malaysia, we wanted to introduce the brand via a digital-led campaign called Olav's Quest that features a multi-platform mobile game in addition to a 3D animated trailer, social engagement via Facebook and on-ground activation throughout Kuala Lumpur. 
 
As part of the activation, we dreamed up a 13-part web series called 'The Saga of Ulf' which is about a band of Vikings who travel from Asgard to Kuala Lumpur in search of their leader Olav the Jarl of Tyres. 

 

Co-produced and filmed with the help of events & activation agency Square Roots and Nigel Sia and his team of videographers and photographers, the series features the exploits of the cheiftain Ulf, the shieldmaiden Hilde, the pathfinder Astid, the trickster Knut and the blacksmith Sigurd.

Episode 1: The Vikings land at Tanjung Karang in Selangor and pick up Olav's trail. 

Episode 2: The Vikings arrive in KL and Astid finds a clue to Olav's whereabouts.

Episode 3: Ulf and his band of Vikings reach Mid Valley of Midgard. 

Episode 4: Astid tracks down Olav to 'Bang-sare' but loses his trail. What happens next? 

Episode 5: After finding a note from Olav, the Vikings head to Publika in search of Gryte.

Episode 6: The Vikings join the people of Malaysia for their celebration of independence. 

Episode 7: After a night of celebration, the Vikings head back to Publika and discover bicycles!

 

Episode 8: Astid convinces the Vikings to board a land ship, the Tour Bus!

Episode 9: Knut and Sigurd challenge each other to friendly contest that begins at Sunway Lagoon!

Episode 10: The Vikings hear tales of a wooden ship that sails across concrete like a ship on the sea. 

Episode 11: Knut and Sigurd take their challenge to the next level. It's time for Karate!

Episode 12: It's the final bout for Knut and Sigurd. Who will win? 

Episode 13: The Vikings receive word from Olav and the Saga of Ulf comes to an end. Oh and tai chi.
