This is a design I came up with for my friend which features part of his name "Rob" and a silhouette of an AR15. I wanted to find a way to incorporate both into one cohesive design and use a waterjet machine to cut the design out of aluminum 6061 and give it to him for his birthday.
This is a rear view of the final design cut out of 6061 aluminum. This would be used as a place holder on his desk, dresser, etc. The rear and insides of the piece was painted with blue enamel.
This is the front view of the final cut. The front was left alone paint wise, but I chose to sand and shine it to give it a beautiful contrast to the insides and rear of the piece.
This is a video clip of the water jet finishing up on the cut program I created in CAD.
This is a video clip of me taking the piece off of the table. This also gives you an idea of how big the piece really is and how nicely it would fit on a desk, table, dresser, etc.
