VMDAS Association (Vancouver Medical Dental and Allied Staff Association) is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. They asked for a rebrand while keeping the acronym of their name. After much research of organizations in similar associations and medical fields I set out to create a modern yet elegant design.
The cross which is typical of medical symbolism is drawn in an abstract fluid way and incorporates the colours and flowing waves of the West Coast. It also symbolized connectivity and relationships. The typeface is modern yet elegant and classic. The 'A' was customized with more of the wave symbolism to connect the icon design to the wordmark.

Now the logo is modern, bright, relates to the West Coast and has options for usage as the main logo and the full stacked logo shown on the left.
