TORIN // Personal Branding

// Rationale

My idea for the name Torin was basically my surname “Trinh”, which was occasionally mispronounced into “Trin” or “Treen” by my Australian friends. Somehow, it has been a remarkable impression in my head, and if you say that slowly, you get “Torin”. In my opinion, the name of my brand was significantly inspired by my surname, and I strongly believe that it is extremely meaningful for me.

My logo is basically a geometric combination. It is a reversed triangle pairing with an upside down arrow that form the letter T. I think that this icon is excessively modern, unique and approachable. Initially, the logo was based on the font “Proxima Nova”, and later on the letter T was elevated as it currently is. After merging the “T” icon with the texts into “Torin”, I realized that the letter “N” caused inconsistency in the logo. Therefore, a minor adjustment was made to match the size of the icon, by stretching out the top and bottom corners of the letter. As a part of the design process, the primary color palette being chosen are orange and black with white wordmarks. The primary reason for the choices was because this is a perfect contemporary color combination. The color duo also embodied the spirit of creativity, enthusiasm and drew attention easily.
