For this project I created a $5 and $20 bill design for the state of West Virginia. I identified key recognizable characteristics of the State, and incorporated a common theme into my final currency design that reflected my research. The twenty dollar bill includes the state bird; Northern Cardinal, and a popular landmark in West Virginia, which is the New River George Bridge. The five dollar bill, includes the state animal; black bear, and a popular landmark; Black Water Falls State Park.
Both bills have the same pattern on the border, which I created based off on an image of The Capitol Gold Dome, another popular land mark in West Virginia. I chose the color scheme for both bills using the state flag colors and colors based off the state's animal and bird. I also include the state's motto on both bill designs.
