Ricky (Ryan) Goimarac's profile

Fast Sketches of Quarantine 2020

Tesla surprised us with what is essentially a block of metal on 4 wheels powered by an impressive electric powertrain, but what if they gave the people something a bit more in line with their present design language? What if they made a truck based on the Tesla Model Y?  This is that vision - the Tesla C/T for Compact Truck.
Compact sport cars are great and all, but they tend to lack function and utility.  What if we pushed the cabin forward, threw in a pair of electric motors and thin batteries on a skateboard platform, and gave the rear end a bigger boot?  Sounds like my kind of car! The silohuette would give the perception of a hatchback or lift back, but from the top or rear, one would see a more traditional trunk/deck-lid for cargo.  Of course there would be a "frunk".
Polestar, essentially Volvo's performance-tuning arm, has recently been spun off as a full-on automaker rather than just a tuner.  However, unlike their storied history of hi-po ICE models in Volvos, Polestar is going 100% electric!  This change has already proven to not only improve upon their ability to provide high-performance vehicles, but now they can add environmentally friendly to their profile as well.  They have 2 vehicles presently (the 1 and the 2) and a third is just around the corner.  While the 1 is a 2-door, supercharged AND Turbocharged hybrid, the 2 is 100% electric and is a high-riding 4-door fastback/liftback.  Both cars resemble their parent company, Volvo, quite nicely, however, in my designs, I aim to shift further from Volvo and help Polestar with an identity all its own.  Above, you will see a sharp, compact coupe (think Volvo C30 for size reference) and a muscular, slammed 4door hatchback (think Porsche Panamera).  I wanted to push some of the proportions common amongst vehicles with internal-combustion engines and illustrate how more cargo space and interior volume can be had when the "engine" or motors are pushed to each corner, or one up front and one in the rear, with a flat battery pack under the floorboard.
I have been a Mitsubishi die-hard fan for 2.5 decades now and as we see compact sedans, coupes and niche sport cars quickly fade away, it would seem that the tri-star company would have a hard time keeping other die-hards in the family.   My vision, however, would captivate those that remain faithful to the brand, but also draw in a fresh new crowd of tech-savvy individuals whom both care about the environment, but also want to retain the thrill of driving freely and maybe even connect with their parents that probably owned Talons, Eclipses GSXs, 3000GTs and Evolutions.  Enter the E-Volution - a supercar in a rams clothing!  The Lancer Evolution was bread to dominate in WRC and continued its decades of success as evidenced by the 10 generations/iterations of the compact sports car. The 2025 E-Volution Combines Mitsubishi heritage form and function and electrifies it with a quad motor powertrain, giving the driver more control over the vehicle than ever before, and bringing Mitsubishi's legendary S-AWC system into the future.
Gone is the Fiesta ST, but it could be reborn as a lifted version to replace the EcoSport.
Dodge needs a compact SUV to be more competitive with its cross-town rivals - the Ford Escape and EcoSport, and GMs Chevy Trax and Trail Blazer.  With compact sedans losing market share rapidly and crossovers taking over, there is plenty of incentive for FCA to leverage their historical knowledge and success with small cars and begin integration of PSA's electric/hybrid platforms.  My Idea for a small Dodge-badged crossover would incorporate strong, bold design elements successful on their larger vehicles, and mix in some European flair from Peugeot/Citroen/Opel.  together, I believe the vehicle would appeal to a much larger (global) market, but also feel right at home here in the States...but surely not blend in with the "others".
