Climber APP design

The demographic of my research is students in university, specifically in procrastination and efficiency in the study. This field is my interest since I was deeply affected by procrastination and inefficiency.

Research

I wrote down the plan of the task I am going to complete and see how many tasks I can finish. I found I can hardly finish all the tasks. The time that I wasted end up doing something boring. Once I found I lost the time for the next task or I could not finish, I start to take a break because I fail with keeping up with my plan. It sounds contradictory, but I was trying to avoid the sense of knowing I can not finish my tasks, but it feels worse afterward. I think my procrastination mainly because I underestimate how many time I spend on each task, I always feel like I have plenty of time to waste, but I do not. The very first step that I set — planing is wrong; I always set the plan base on what I thought I could finish but did not base on the face. My excuse for not working is: I do not feel like doing it right now, and somethings afraid of not doing well — psychological issues. Many APPs can help physically; we need an app helping with mental problems.
I tried some APP / Software that recommended by my candidates. I like Timing; I like the way it is automatically tracking how many times that I am working. However, I think if it could calculating my phone and iPad as well, that will be more helpful.

Going through what my users might go through made me realised what potential problems that they might face and conform to my conclusion in the questionnaire part.
Identified problems

Based on my study, females are more likely to use APPs to solve procrastination. So the app that I am going to design is likely more feminine. An important finding is that the student might overestimate their efficiency while studying and underestimate the time of the task needs.

The research also reached why students procrastinate. Although there are many fair excuses, excuses can be classified into three reasons: management issues, self-controlled problems, and psychological problems(31%, 31%, 38% perspectively).
For all the APPs that exist are focusing on how to make student’s time-efficient, little did they salve the problem psychologically.
