Healthcare workers across the nation have been responding to the barrage of the COVID-19 pandemic with unwavering professionalism and grace. While the president has moved on, encouraged millions to follow suit, there are still tens of thousands of heroic front line healthcare workers putting it all on the line for others. The price for selfish non-mask wearing behavior is paid by the front line doctors, nurses and support staff. This battle has proven to be an unprecedented challenge to the front line heroes of this pandemic. We all want to get back some semblance of normalcy in a life that feels like its been under siege for the past couple months, but imagine how the front line nurses and doctors feel. They are often invisible in this long fight. The long hours, are one issue, but the emotional, physical and mental anguish that come with this fight is steep. As we see the massive expansion of the virus, think of these heroes and listen to their words, and help them by practicing social distancing, and wearing a mask. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff of Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta California for letting me visit you for the day and hear your heroic stories.
