Design I Social Cause: Gun Violence
We had full creative freedom of what our message would be on that subject.
I ultimately chose the message of Gun Control Legislation using the names of various mass shooting victims in a bullseye. My point of view is that our country keeps experiencing mass shootings and nothing more is done besides people sending out "thoughts and prayers."
These are my idea sketches. My first idea was a statement that the NRA wanted people to keep shooting. My bullseye with victims' names can be seen in the first sketch. The next idea was to use a hunting record book, where the hunter (mass shooter) would record the names of the victims, again with NRA support. I later toyed with the idea of a floral wreath for shooting victims. In the bottom right is where the final poster idea took form.
This is a closer look at the picture above. I chose to use text with the victims' bullseye for my final project.
