Ebenezers Coffee Packaging and Merchandise

After developing a concept design for an Ebenezers Coffeehouse coffee beans package, I adapted the design and created coherent and consistent designs for the shop's packaging and merchandise. The packages consisted of coffee bean bags, labels for each of the four bean blends, and a cold brew can label. I also developed two designs that the shop could use on clothing or other merchandise.

My new bag design uses the standard packaging dimensions for the shop's 12 oz bags and includes a plastic zipper on the front and a valve on the back. I used the track designs on the background of the bag, which represent the location of the coffee shop near Washington DC's Union Station, because the coffee shop management appreciates the way it represents the history and location of the company.
Below are the labels for each of the four bean blends. Ernestine's Blend is named after the original owner of the building where Ebenezers is located, and the illustration represents the building's original use as a diner. The remaining blends are named after locations or transportation ways near the coffee shop, and each of my illustrations are intended to visually depict the location in a monochromatic and geometric fashion.
I used the same illustration style, fonts, and colors for the cold brew label. I chose the red scheme for the label, because it is represents the cherries of coffee trees. I carried the subtle track design along the top, and the background color is meant to be similar in tone to the kraft paper of the coffee bags.
I also created designs that the business could use on merchandise, such as t-shirts, tote bags, or hats. The first images below give a more traditional look with the facade of the building and use colors of the packaging. I designed these with the intent of placing them on the left chest of a t-shirt or the front of a hat, and they allow for simple one-color printing.
The second merchandise designs give a more playful option for customers. The coffee shop is often referred to in a shortened form as 'Ebz', so this design utilizes that nickname incorporated in a track motif that extends across the chest of a shirt. The square image on the right of the track design would be used on the back of the shirt, just below the collar to give a small reference to the full name and location of the shop.
The coffee shop decided to use the Ebz track design for mugs and T-shirts.
