A Long Night

Between 2015 and 2020, the artist Gunter Demnig placed 114 Stolpersteine into the streets of Turin to commemorate the victims of Nazi and Fascist deportation. Starting from their stories, this board shows the combing phase, from September 1943 to January 1945, and includes for each one the reasons for the capture, age, sex and in some cases the closest family ties: husbands and wives, parents and children, brothers and sisters.  Only six people survived deportation.
