The boards show mermaids in playful undersea sceneries with tropical fishes, shells, coral, crabs...
The positioning of the tiles was carefully designed in order to create precious borders of the pictures and beautiful mosaic decorations on some parts of the illustrations, like the mermaids' tails and the sea waves.
