THE VENN CO-LIVING IN THE TWIN TOWER

Do new developments and constructions of residential buildings represent more value, quality or progress of our living standards? Will we gain more or loose more of our habitation ideals? These days, the government is planning to redevelop public housing, for example: Shek Kip Mei Estate, Ngau Tau Kok Estate or Su Uk Estate.

Small communities within those dwellings, formed over years, will be abolished in favour of high density residential homes. Although it can increase the supply of living units and market value, possibility of new transportation hubs, convenience stores and recreational facilities, it might at the same time create more isolated living clusters and decrease the interactivity and support of an established community. This project is proposing a new model of co-living by re-structuring and adapting existing public housing to become an exemplary of communal cooperation design for future living.
