The Problem
Imagine if a person was told that they could only go to ten cinemas in Australia and to one of three sessions a week because of their gender, cultural background or religious beliefs. That doesn't happen, but this is the reality of what it is like living with a disability. Our concept, MoldABLE aims to be more inclusive of people living with disabilities. We want to celebrate diversity and individualism by including all Multicap clients in the FashionABLE event through other artistic endeavours; rather than just the runway.
Fashionable is an all inclusive event that celebrates this diversity, but what if there was a way to include those who don't want to participate in the runway show.
Brainstorming
Our thought processing. Breaking down the weekly content, the client brief as well as the information that was given to us by the partner program. This information allowed us to identify areas of the event that could benefit from additional ideation and conceptualisation.
Our Concept
MoldABLE is a program where Mutlicap clients create abstract clay models that can be displayed alongside the models of the FashionaABLE event. This program is suitable for individuals of all capabilities due to its abstract nature. Tools are optional as the clay can be 'worked' by any means the individuals see fit.
How it works
Our program starts 3 weeks prior to the FashionABLE event. Where we invite a recognised disabled artist to donate an abstract clay sculpture responding to themes of diversity and inclusion. Over the next 2 weeks we invite Multicap clients to create their own clay sculptures. Clients whom cannot make it to the community hubs can still participate through at home avenues, whereby the Multicap deliver service can collect the pieces. Two days prior to the fashion event, these abstract piece are hung along the runway to showcase the abilities of those who aren't in the show. Those watching from online platforms are able to recognise their pieces on the runway, feeling a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment. After FashionABLE, these pieces can be displayed at community centres and sponsorship events where benefactors can bid on these pieces in hopes to raise funds for Multicap.
MoldABLE's Impact
Through MoldABLE, we will create a more inclusive event by showcasing artistic creations of all varieties and abilities. The benefits of artistic therapy ranges from alleviating stress and improving self worth. This event gifts individuals with a sense of accomplishment and individuality. In the words of Multicap: All ways, Always.

It was a great experience being able to work with a diverse range of passionate individuals, whom all wanted to put forward an all-inclusive workshop for individuals to take part in with Multicap's event; FashionABLE.
