Located in the central pacific coast of Costa Rica (where the beach meets the rainforest), Dos Mariposas is a project I have been working on with Studio Meraz for over two years. We are excited to share the news that it has been completed.

Somewhat secluded - taken from an hour long hike
The main house sits above a bodega/outdoor studio. The steep butterfly-roof channels all the water in a catchment system and into a buried 2500 gallon tank.
First glimpse from the road, a 20 minute "exuberant" drive from the beach in Uvita.
Furniture is all a re-interpretation of the local aesthetics and styles, fairly rustic, and the occasional slice of a found fallen tree.
