Stand Design
July 2018 | Havana, Cuba

The Client:
The National Civil Defence Staff of the Republic of Cuba summons different institutions to participate in the International Congress About Disasters. At this time, results are presented in the implementation of protocols for meteorological phenomena such as hurricanes (characteristic in the Caribbean), which Cuba faces annually.

Cuba's Ministry of Tourism participates in this congress with a stand detailing the preventative and reactionary protocols and measures it enacts from a tourism standpoint.

Request:
Cuba's Ministry of Tourism requests a stand design to exhibit at the 10th International Congress About Disasters. This stand is required to be modular, with an occupancy space of 3x4 meters. The information to be displayed will include the protocols, response methods and results obtained in the tourism sector during hurricane season.

Concept:
In order so that the personnel exhibiting at the Congress may properly engage attendees, a semi-open exhibition stand would be created featuring graphics and information across the panels.

Solution | Technical Work:
Space: Together with the client, the location of the exhibition stand in the Congress space was analyzed, including its dimensions and the method used for its on-site construction. It was decided that construction would be carried out using an Octanorm system structure, so the spaces were diagrammed to be used to the maximum while meeting client needs.

Graphic: Using the orange and blue colours, which are part of the symbols used by the Cuban Civil Defence, and a combination of text, images and graphics, panels were segmented to properly showcase, explain and emphasize the information on display.
