Advertising concept for beverage brand. The final image is a composit of photography and CGI.
I took an image of a bottle scotch whisky, Bruichladdich, I had created a while ago. I retouched it so it looked like it was open and not completely full, with liquid flowing. I created a mock-up of a similarly shaped bottle and scultped an elliptical splash around it. I decided to render in Adobe DImension to take advantage of the Substance materials and after a few tweaks to an existing material and setting up suitable lighting, I obtained a render that I could composit with photography.
Manually brushing to adjust in Photoshop and reducing opacity to blend it together, I then added a coloured background for further pop and bleed colour to the splash for further realism. The concept might not fit exactly the brand or the specific product, but I used as an exercise. The idea was to give the liquid motion to express the latino element (Sherry cask), which almost looks like fire as it enters the bottle.
