Misfortunes may take what we love and cherish. One unable to get a grip of their emotions ended up as Kelana, thinking he's protecting his rights, and let his ego take him for good. Such "dark" side human nature has to satisfy themselves. The story of Kelana encourages us to reflect on what we did, as mistakes are part of our growth. And it's ok. So take a look at pucuak rebuang, not only it symbolizes the need to keep growing up and move forward with a straight mind, it also reminds the importance of humbleness, like a bamboo tree that always bent down as it grew higher.
Besides, even though it was dark, if we were to open our eyes, there was so much light around us. If our hearts are open to accepting, dark becomes an opportunity for those lights to shine while we can create our own beauty through it.
Challenges will continue to exist. If we continue to hesitate to step up, independence may never exist!
